Smile Hello and Welcome to U.S. Military Life!

Hello and welcome to U.S. Military Life! I would like to personally thank you for making the effort and coming to our little section of the web.

This is the infamous introduction thread, the place to come in and say hello and tell us a little bit about yourself, and how you found us. But stick around! Together, we'll make your experience here worthwhile. Hello and Welcome to U.S. Military Life! While you're here, I believe that you'll find and create great topics and some interesting discussions surrounding the military, or just general chit chat.

One of the first things you should do as a new member is carefully read over the FAQ section as well as the Forum Rules and Information. In the FAQ section you will find some of the most commonly asked questions on how to go about changing certain aspects of your profile and the like. Also, the Forum Rules and Information will help you better understand how we operate as a community and what do if certain situations arise.

Please understand that as a community we do respect everyone's opinions and responses to those opinions, but we will not tolerate disrespect to fellow members. We are open to every type of member with the exception to the crude ones. Now, in the case of you noticing that someones behavior is out of conduct, then please don't hesitate to report the post/thread or PM a member of the staff. We will gladly look over the situation and act accordingly. You are not to carry on the assault in the said thread. It's as simple as that.

Again, I hope you do enjoy your time with us at U.S. Military Life, as we are very excited to have you. Happy Posting!

Greetings everyone. My name is, Adam or TheVisitors or Visitor, whichever you would prefer to address me as.

I discovered this community because the administrator here is kind enough to develop some free modifications in his spare time to the vBulletin community. vBulletin is the software in which this community is currently using, for those who do not know. I myself also have my own community, but will not share it here in respects to the current administrator (I feel it would be rude to go about posting links to it).

Like some of you, I too wanted to serve and make the most of things. Although my service wasn't exactly traditional in the since that I was a member of The United Nations. Arguable some people would argue that doesn't count, but when you go through some basic training and actually see combat and have to crawl your way out of a isolated part of another country, without support or backup; all in the belief that your job is to help serve, what would you call it?

Although working for The UN wasn't my original plan and I can't say I liked it much or how it ended up. Globally you don't get much respect from any service member from any country and forget putting it on your resume... ever. If you've not seen the movie, "The sum of all fear", I suggest you watch it and recall the part where the young man tells his girlfriend what he really does for a living. That about sums it up for putting it on your resume.

You'll have to forgive my rant. I really am a nice guy and do enjoy making some light humor about my life and my short service. But I also felt it was important to express in my introduction about it.
I often find it complexing & upsetting how often people judge that you have reached a level of maturity and responsibility if you can easily accept being ripped off or taken advantage of for someone else's gain or enjoyment.
